Description We are seeking a Project Engineer who brings a strong
project management mindset, thrives on driving continuous
improvement, and proactively supports evolving Laboratory needs.
About the role: Leading end?to?end project execution - guiding
project teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring clarity,
communication, and high?quality deliverables throughout all phases
of work. Providing clear, timely communication to NRLFO, NR, and
senior leadership regarding project progress, risks, and emerging
issues to support informed decision?making. Championing innovation
and improvement by originating new ideas that enhance Laboratory
capabilities, strengthen functional requirements, and drive
cost?effective solutions. Coordinating effectively with
cross?functional partners including Operations & Maintenance,
Construction, Environmental Safety & Health, Radiological, Waste
Management, Security, and IT to ensure integrated project support.
Managing project scope, schedule, and budget-making sound
decisions, mitigating risks, and executing change management
processes when challenges arise. Required Combination of Knowledge
and Skill Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field
and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree
from an accredited college or university in a related technical,
engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 2 years
of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited
college or university in a related technical, engineering, science
or construction field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training
Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the
Company. Preferred Skills Management of multiple projects and in
project planning Management of Construction and/or Facilities
projects Previous work with subcontractors Experience with
regulators and/or compliance organizations Experience or training
in problem identification and resolution, causal analysis, etc.
Project planning tools (MS Project or Primavera) and resource
loading, to include work breakdown structure (WBS) Strong
communication skills and teaming abilities, and demonstrated

Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and
qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The
Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of
Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned
subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel
are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic
Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A.
Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S.
Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous
shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval
Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion
technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class
nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our
nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear
Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval
Nuclear Propulsion Program. We rely on the dedication and
