Summary of Job Description: This will serve as a detailed outline to define the work that needs to be performed in a job and the functions that an associate is accountable for. (Sections 1 & 2 below)



Primary Function/General Purpose of Position (2-3 sentences)



EXAMPLE: Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines the priority of patient's problems/needs, and evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care; coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.



This is a temporary academic position in which the adjunct faculty member is responsible for instruction of students in the clinical setting within a given discipline.



Essential Job Functions (7-10) Statements

EXAMPLE: In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness; administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures; serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments. Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department. Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery



Assumes responsibility for clinical instruction of assigned courses.



Facilitates a learning and caring environment, which encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction, and respect for the uniqueness of each individual.



Evaluates student progress and maintains appropriate records.



Remains current with trends, issues and practices in the discipline.



Contributes to the evaluation of student academic achievement and other evaluative processes of the College.



Demonstrates knowledge of and implementation of the general education philosophy



Serves on college committees as appointed or elected.



Actively involved in professional development and scholarly activities.
