Performance Foodservice, a premier food distributor in the United States, is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician Class A. This position is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency and reliability of our expansive fleet of vehicles, which are essential for delivering food and related products to customers ranging from quaint family-owned restaurants to expansive nationwide chains. The right candidate will bring expert-level knowledge and skills in diesel engine repair and maintenance, contributing significantly to the smooth operation and longevity of our fleet. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems in diesel engines. Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine and safety features. Maintain accurate records of each repair and maintenance performed on vehicles. Collaborate with the logistics and operations departments to schedule maintenance and minimize vehicle downtime. Stay updated on the latest industry technologies and techniques for diesel engine maintenance. In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and repair techniques. Strong troubleshooting skills specific to electrical systems, transmissions, and other critical components. Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools used for vehicle maintenance. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and working in tight spaces. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k ASE Diesel Certification strongly preferred. CDL License is beneficial but not mandatory.
