will provide respiratory therapy services and life support to
patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Your

their experience and licensure. /n Responsibilities: /n /n /n -
Demonstrates advanced knowledge in high-risk respiratory modalities
specific to the business entity. /n - Administers therapies such as
Nitric Oxide (NO) and Tracheal Gas Insufflation (TGI). /n -
Performs advanced procedures in non-traditional settings (OR, ED,
Cath Lab, Lung Center, Recovery, Transport). /n - Conducts
bronchoscopy, ABG lab troubleshooting, pulmonary function tests,
breath alcohol testing, EEG, EKG, stress testing, and 24-hour
Holter monitoring. /n - Monitors patient responses to therapy,
including vitals, ABGs, and blood chemistry. Performs
bronchopulmonary drainage and assists with breathing exercises.
Maintains accurate patient charts and therapy documentation. /n -
Orders equipment repairs and demonstrates procedures to trainees
and healthcare personnel. /n - Supervises students during clinical
training. Assists in transporting mechanically ventilated patients
and responds to code situations. /n - Evaluates medical orders and
interprets clinical data to optimize patient outcomes. /n - Reads
prescriptions, assesses patient conditions, and determines
treatment requirements. Sets up and operates respiratory equipment
(ventilators, gas administration, aerosol generators). /n - Adjusts
equipment to ensure optimal therapy results and inspects for safety
and efficiency. Functions as Lead Respiratory Therapist (Charge
Duty) in the absence of a supervisor or manager. /n - Serves as a
senior resource for staff, providing training, support, and
problem-solving guidance. /n /n /n - Graduate of a Co ARC
(Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved
Respiratory program required. /n - In lieu of an Associates degree,
must have 5 to 7 years of experience or have an NBRC Certification;
Bachelor's degree is preferred. /n - Two years of total respiratory
care experience with a minimum of one year in critical care is
required. /n - Must successfully complete one approved project from
the department's project list during each annual performance review
period. Project approved within 3 months of hire. Licensure,
Certifications, and Clearances: /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards
that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component
within 30 days of hire. /n - Osteopathic Respiratory Care OR
Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) /n - Employees practicing in
Pennsylvania: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required. /n - Registered Respiratory
Therapist (RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the
National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. /n -
Respiratory Therapists who receive their RRT credential from the
NBRC after July 1, 2002 are required to maintain certification
under the NBRC requirements.Employees practicing in Maryland:
Maryland Respiratory Therapist license required. /n /n UPMC is an
