Job Description:
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified Med/Surg RN in Bridgeport, West Virginia, 26330! Pay
Information $2,452 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Float Pool
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: All travelers must take and
pass a cardiac rhythm exam. An RN with ACLS certification should be
able to pass the exam. Description: The float pool covers multiple
units. The most frequent units are 6N and 7N. Other units include
4N, 5S, 6S, and Critical Care. Each unit has a varying number of
beds. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6 for days and
nights. Occasionally, ratios may increase to 1:7 depending on
patient acuity. Common diagnoses include CHF, cardiac
catheterization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease,
COPD, orthopedics, and oncology. All units utilize CNAs. Charge
nurses are present on each unit 24/7. Day charge nurses do not take
patient assignments. Night charge nurses may take patient
assignments. Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP.
Registered nurses are not expected to manage respiratory
treatments. Most units have monitor techs, but registered nurses
must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips. The schedule
is made 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Travelers are required to work
every other weekend. Holiday shifts are incorporated into the
permanent staff rotation. Travelers may float to all units but will
have a 'parent unit' assignment. Travelers will be assigned basic
telemetry patients within their scope of practice. The dress code
requires royal blue scrubs. Travelers receive 1-2 shifts with a
preceptor for orientation on the unit. Charting is done using Epic
