This role is with a specialty retail pharmacy that supports complex, high-acuity patients managing multiple chronic conditions. If youre a patient-focused tech with strong communication skills and solid retail fundamentals, this is a great long-term opportunity. Position Overview This pharmacy serves patients who often manage 815 medications daily , primarily within Medicare/Medicaid populations. Success in this role requires patience, empathy, and a strong working knowledge of common retail medications. Youll work closely with pharmacists and patients to ensure accuracy, adherence, and a supportive care experience. Schedule MondayFriday, 8:30 AM 5:00 PM No weekends Lunch: 12:30 PM 1:00 PM 13-week contract with strong potential for hire based on performance Key Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with prescription processing and fulfillment in a specialty retail setting Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients managing chronic illnesses Support patients with low health literacy through clear explanations and follow-up Handle medications commonly used in chronic disease management Maintain accurate patient profiles and pharmacy records Work efficiently within pharmacy software systems Support daily workflow in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment Required Qualifications Active registration with the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) Recent retail or specialty pharmacy technician experience Documented experience working with chronic disease populations (resume must clearly reflect this) Strong knowledge of the top 200400 retail medications Excellent verbal communication skills and patient empathy Preferred (Now Required to Ensure Qualified Candidates) Specialty retail pharmacy experience Experience with Medicare/Medicaid patient populations Prior exposure to PioneerRx pharmacy system Software PioneerRx (prior experience preferred; training available) Benefits & Highlights Competitive weekly pay Weekly pay structure Full-time benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and more upon conversion Stable weekday schedule with no weekends Long-term potential in a specialty retail pharmacy focused on patient outcomes This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled pharmacy technician who thrives in patient-facing roles and wants to make a meaningful impact with complex patient populations.
