Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Neurology - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with strong neuro Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency for a day shift position in an acute care setting. Responsibilities - Work on a 20-bed Neuro Medical Surgical unit in an acute care hospital - Primary patient population includes neurological cases such as stroke, seizures, deep brain stimulation, surgical or postop spines, and other neurological disorders - Typical patient ratios are 1:5-6 for floor patients - Weekend day shifts available: Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm - May float to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as needed, with additional floating possible within the hospital - Uses Epic EMR; recent Epic experience is required - Tele monitoring is present; RNs verify monitor tech strip readings in Epic - Respiratory therapists are available 24/7 for ventilator management - Responsibilities include caring for patients with complex neurological conditions, postoperative management, and collaborating on care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams - Charge nurse and nurse aides available on each shift for support - Travelers expected to participate in the holiday rotation - Scrub color is any combination of white and royal blue - Unit-specific orientation consists of one shift on the unit - RNs are not required to read telemetry strips but must confirm monitor tech readings in Epic Requirements - Active WV or compact RN license required - Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with strong neuro background and proficiency managing G-tubes - BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required at time of consideration - Recent experience with Epic EMR required - ACLS certification preferred - Compliance with 100-mile radius rule for eligibility; local travelers not accepted - Past employees must have a 2-year break from any WVU Medicine location prior to reapplying; cumulative travel assignments at WVU limited to one year before a required 2-year break Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-665130.
