to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Wheeling, West Virginia, 26003!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical
Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights, or Day/Night
Rotate Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years
required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: Must be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:6-7
Description: Unit has a total of 30 beds. Patient ratios are 1:6-7,
with the possibility of increasing to 1:7. RNs must be comfortable
with this ratio. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis,
rule out conditions, cholecystitis, appendicitis, pneumonia,
urosepsis, and acute kidney injury. There is one charge RN on the
floor with an assignment. Patient care technicians are available on
the unit. RNs are required to titrate heparin drips based on APTT
results. There is no ventilator use on this unit, but intermittent
BIPAP is utilized. Telemetry monitoring is available and is managed
remotely by monitor technicians. Scheduling transitions to a
specified system to manage shifts. Weekends and holidays are
scheduled as needed, usually covering half of the total weekends.
There is no standby or call requirement. Floating to other units
may be required based on census. Scrub color is navy blue. 2 shifts
may be canceled during the 13-week contract. The charting system
used is EPIC. BSN is not required. No specific trauma level is
indicated. This position is in an acute care setting. 5 Benefits of
