Provide specialized nursing care on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown unit focused on intermediate care for adult patients requiring close monitoring and complex interventions. This travel assignment offers a rewarding opportunity to manage a variety of cardiovascular and neurological cases, including chest pain, stroke, and post-operative care, working in a fast-paced, 16-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5. Location Overview: The assignment is based in Warren, Ohio, a city known for its rich history and community-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient assessments, plan and implement individualized care, and evaluate outcomes using nursing best practices. Administer medications safely and manage complex care needs including cardiac drips, central lines, wound vacs, and various oxygen delivery systems. Serve as a pivotal communication link among interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to coordinate comprehensive care. Utilize critical thinking to respond effectively to dynamic patient conditions and acute situations. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record system and comply with hospital policies and safety protocols. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN license with Compact State coverage or licensure in the state of assignment. At least one year of RN experience, preferably with 6 months in an acute care hospital setting. Certification requirements include BLS, ACLS, Dysrhythmia Exam (required), with NIH Stroke Certification preferred. Experience with EPIC EHR and a critical care course is desirable. Strong clinical judgment with skills in managing multi-system organ failure and familiarity with telemetry/intermediate care patient needs. Additional Details: Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend and every other holiday. Navy blue scrubs required. Strictly non-local candidates for this travel role.
