Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location: Morgantown, WV Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,272 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Trauma General Surgery Inpatient - Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Weekend Nights - Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - Experience with complex wound care, drains, devices, traumatic injuries, chest tubes, respiratory support, traumatic brain injuries, and complex spinal cord injuries. Description: This is a 33-bed trauma and general surgery inpatient unit. We are a high-impact, fast-paced nursing unit working with challenging patient-care issues. Nurses practice at the top of their scope and abilities. We encounter a variety of patient conditions and care modalities. The unit sees complex wound care with a variety of drains and devices. We care for traumatic injuries, including chest-wall injuries requiring chest tubes and respiratory support. Additionally, we manage traumatic brain injuries presenting complex challenges. Patients with complex spinal cord injuries are also part of our care. Our team collaborates with care management, surgical and medical services, rehabilitation services, and perioperative services. We are recognized for our work with patients undergoing bariatric weight-loss surgeries. Our nurses experience both step-down and floor patients, allowing for breadth and depth in care management. The nurse-patient ratio on the floor is 1:6, and 1:3 for step-down patients. Flexibility to float to similar units is required. Shifts follow a rotating weekend schedule and may include holiday requirements. The unit has dedicated resources for respiratory therapy and monitoring. Nurses must be able to read strips, with support from monitor technicians. We maintain a therapeutic environment for patients recovering from various medical and surgical conditions.
