Job Description:

DUTIES (include but not limited to the following): Assist the Human Resources Director with department operations, administering labor union contracts, human resources policies and procedures. Assist the Staff Development Specialist with training and orientation activities. Assist with Board front office/lobby operations as needed, i.e. phones, visitors, mail. Assist with recruitment activities, i.e. posting jobs, distributing applications/resumes, scheduling interviews, maintaining files and spreadsheet tracking all related activity. Ensure all tasks are completed for each new hire, per the New Hire Checklist. Work closely with Payroll to process new hire paperwork and Employee Status Change forms. Maintain personnel files. Ensure appropriate files transferred to microfilm annually, per County policy. Assist with coordinating HR related activities (wellness, engagement, recognition, etc) Assist with distribution of Employee Engagement and New Hire Surveys; schedule Exit Interviews. Process workers compensation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), unemployment claims, other leaves of absence, and maintain associated files. Prepare monthly reports.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS (include but not limited to the following): High School Diploma. Associates Degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years Human Resources administrative experience. Must be detail oriented and organized. Ability to multi-task, accurately follow instructions. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Exposure to payroll practices, federal, state, local labor and employment laws/regulations. Ability to think and act independently with problem solving skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal relationship skills Teamwork skills and ability to work with diverse people at all levels of the organization Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
