Job Description Job Description This position oversees the production of food items in accordance with FDA regulations, company standards, and customer orders. The role focuses on maximizing labor, equipment, and raw materials to support profitability and meet volume goals. Responsibilities include managing staffing, training, scheduling, and daily workflow to ensure all product requirements, processing needs, and quality expectations are met. Before each shift, the supervisor reviews customer demand, inventory levels, raw materials, labor schedules, and equipment availability to plan production effectively. Throughout the shift, they monitor and adjust labor, line setups, and inventory levels as needs change. They maintain weekly production data, review historical volume trends, order raw materials, and keep inventory rotated and properly staged. This role also oversees quality and compliance functions, including HACCP, SOP, and GMP requirements. The supervisor ensures operators are trained, documentation is completed accurately, deviations are addressed promptly, and sanitary conditions are maintained. They evaluate and approve raw materials, track lot control information, and manage required departmental paperwork. The position includes coordinating with other departments, supporting maintenance needs, overseeing machinery setup and changeovers, training operators, and ensuring equipment is functioning properly. The supervisor also directs forklift operators, monitors scales and metal detectors, and documents equipment issues as they arise. The role requires working in a refrigerated environment, being on the production floor for the full shift, lifting up to 30 pounds, and maintaining good cooperation and communication with management, coworkers, and maintenance staff.
