Job Description:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with
coordinating all aspects of the University's search and hiring
process; reviews search process for compliance with state and
federal regulations and University policies and procedures; works
with hiring managers, search committees, and other staff to provide
guidance on the search process; identifies and resolves related
issues. Assists in the planning and provision of training for the
University's applicant tracking system, search and hiring process,
applicable regulations and compliance issues, and other related
topics. Researches, analyzes and assembles multiple types of data
for various EEO and workforce reports, including the University's
Affirmative Action Plan and progress toward affirmative action
goals. Establishes and maintains files and databases; performs
database entry and updates, in a timely and accurate manner.
Reviews and responds to formal and informal complaints of
discrimination/harassment; obtains sufficient information from the
parties involved to verify timeliness, basis and standing.
Collaborates within Human Resources and campus constituents to
ensure the complaint and parties involved are directed to the
appropriate University services and area for resolution. Provides
thorough information to involved parties, including details
regarding the policies and procedures utilized and enforced by the
Office of Equal Opportunity, Policy Development and Title IX.
Refers individuals to necessary resources and coordinates such
referrals with those agencies and departments. Conducts neutral,
unbiased and timely investigation of discrimination/harassment
complaints as assigned; interviews, records statements of parties,
witnesses, and other appropriate individuals as needed; reviews
records and prepares fact finding reports; assembles documentary
evidence. Assembles data/records to investigative reports, ensuring
investigations and complaints are entered appropriately and
consistently and that reports and files contain required
documentation. Develops and delivers training and educational
programs to the YSU community on University policies and procedures
related to protected class harassment and discrimination and sexual
misconduct; provides information about complaint procedures and
investigative processes. Identifies training needs, develops and
provides system-wide training for supervisors and employees on EEO,
ADA and harassment related issues. Coordinates daily tasks related
to one or more assigned components of a department's/division's
overall programs and/or services. Regularly communicates with
supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required
or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of the
department's/division's overall goals and objectives. Prepares and
maintains accurate records of daily tasks in accordance with the
department's/division's (or University's) policies and procedures
and assures timely communication with supervisor, staff, and
students where appropriate. Gathers data and prepares reports and
other information/documentation for supervisory review related to
the department's/division's programs and/or services, or one or
more assigned components thereof. Prepares for and attends events.
Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent
to duties; participates in staff development activities; attends
meetings, conferences, and other events. Other Functions and
Responsibilities: Performs other related duties as assigned.
