Company Driver Class A OTR Long Haul

Summary/Objective:
The truck driver position performs a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans in support of the department.

Essential Functions:

• Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
  
• Find ways to conserve resources such as fuel.
  
• Conduct daily pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle and report any problems or damage to the fleet manager.
  
• Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
  
• Interact courteously with customers and respond to requests
  
• Assist management in resolving customer issues or suggestions.
  
• Serve as a representative of the company, projecting a positive image to the public.
  
• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  
• Maintains and submits DOT e-logs, and inspection paperwork.

    Supervisory Responsibility:
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
    
    Work Environment:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud when in the field.
    
    Physical Demands:
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

      • Travel is out of the area and overnight travel is expected
        Preferred Education and Experience:
        
        • Clean driving record
          Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
          
          • Valid Class A CDL
            
          • Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or Waiver

            • Must be at least 21
              
            • 5 years experience preferred
              
            • No at fault accidents in last 3 years
              
            • No moving violations in last 3 years
              
            • No failed drug tests in past 6 years
