FerroWorks, has locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and
Kutztown, PA including McConway and Torley and Standard Forged,
which have been in continuous operations since 1869, the same year
the first US transcontinental railroad was completed. We have been
able to meet the needs of our customers with a steady, dependable
and economical supply of high-quality railroad industry products.
As McConway is the original designers of the first standard
automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have and
has led to a product line that includes every AAR approved coupler
as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in
the US. We are seeking an Outside Sales Lead to drive growth across
industrial manufacturing markets, including heavy equipment, steel
production, and mining operations. This role is critical to
expanding FerroWorks’ presence in demanding industrial environments
where reliability, durability, and engineered solutions are
essential. In this position, you will develop and execute a
proactive field-based sales strategy aimed at strengthening
customer relationships and identifying new revenue opportunities.
You will serve as the customer-facing champion of our product line,
working directly with plant managers, procurement teams,
maintenance leaders, and engineering staff in mining, metals, and
other industrial sectors. In this role, you will translate customer
needs into solutions, drive market expansion, and help shape the
company’s overall sales approach. Some of your key responsibilities
will include: Building and executing a sales strategy targeting
industrial manufacturing and mining sectors Developing a deep
understanding of customer operations in heavy industry, identifying
challenges and specifying solutions that leverage FerroWorks’
technical capabilities Cultivating strong, long-term relationships
with key customer accounts, distributors, OEM partners, and
industry stakeholders Conducting on-site visits to industrial
facilities, mines, mills, and manufacturing plants to assess
customer needs, present product capabilities, and support solution
development Leveraging market insights, competitive intelligence,
and customer feedback to refine sales approaches and identify new
growth opportunities Managing the sales pipeline, maintain accurate
forecasting, and ensure disciplined use of CRM tools. Collaborating
closely with engineering, product development, and operations teams
to align customer requirements with production capabilities.
Representing FerroWorks at industry shows, mining conferences,
manufacturing events, and customer demonstrations Preparing regular
reports on sales activity, market conditions, pricing trends, and
competitive dynamics Qualifications Required: Minimum of 5years of
experience in outside or field-based sales within industrial, heavy
manufacturing, steel, or mining environments Preferred: Strong
leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to
influence decision-makers at all levels Experience selling
engineered or metallurgical products into industrial or mining
markets Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze
operational challenges in customer facilities Proficiency in CRM
tools and field sales technology Demonstrated ability to negotiate
and close high-value deals Education Bachelor’s degree in Business,
Marketing, Engineering, or a related field MBA or advanced degree
preferred Travel Requirements Regular travel to customer sites,
industrial facilities, mining operations, and corporate locations
as needed, up to 60%
