If you're looking for a role that offers not only professional growth and recognition, but also the chance to truly make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. /n UPMC is currently offering a generous sign-on bonus for qualified Medical Lab Technicians! /n Responsibilities: /n /n - /n Perform accurate and timely specimen collection, processing, and analysis, including phlebotomy as needed. /n /n - /n Conduct moderate complexity testing independently, and high complexity testing under supervision. /n /n - /n Recognize and respond to critical or abnormal results, instrument issues, and other lab concerns following established protocols. /n /n - /n Ensure precise data entry and maintain specimen integrity throughout the testing process. /n /n - /n Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment; perform quality control and routine maintenance. /n /n - /n Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and lab team members. /n /n - /n Follow all safety, compliance, and confidentiality standards. /n /n - /n Support training and onboarding of new team members and students. /n /n /n - Associate's degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), OR /n - Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science, with 6 months of clinical laboratory experience OR /n - Equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA '88 for individuals performing high complexity testing. /n - Minimum 1year's experience in a hospital laboratory preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred. /n /n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - Medical Laboratory Technician MLT(ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification preferred. /n - Act 34 /n /n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
