Job Description Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Wheeling, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Stepdown - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/31/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Position: IMU RN – Intermediate Care Unit/nFacility: 30-bed unit (14 Private / 16 Semi-private)/nShift Type: 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling allowed; must be on unit by 6:45 AM/PM/nPatient Ratios: Goal 1:4 (typically 1:5, occasionally 1:6)/nCertifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS/nExperience/Skills:/n/nMust interpret telemetry strips independently/n/nAble to titrate drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, Heparin, occasionally Lasix/n/nComfortable with complex cardiac patients (chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post caths, Tikosyn therapy)/n/nRarely manage chest tubes/n/nTeam Structure:/n/nCharge Nurse / House Supervisor on duty/n/n2–3 CNAs per shift/n/nTele Techs available, RNs must read strips/n/nIV team, RT, and Pharmacy in-house 24/7/n/nFloating: Required to MedSurg, Tele, and Pandemic Unit; ratios may increase up to 1:6–1:7 in MedSurg/nOrientation: 2 days (4 hours HR 8 hours unit with preceptor per day)/nWeekend Requirement: Night shift – 4 weekend nights per 4-week schedule; Day shift – 4 weekend days per 4-week schedule/nHolidays: Typically covered by permanent staff; flexibility required/nScrub Color: Navy blue top & bottom, navy scrub jackets, no hoodies/nEMR: Sunrise/nLicensing & Radius Rule: 50-mile radius; must submit unexpired driver’s license; disclose any licensing hits at submission About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
